Challenges
-
Outdated Platform: The existing website was 17 years old, lacking the modern design standards expected by global users today.
-
Brand Inconsistency: The site didn’t reflect IIMA’s updated brand identity, resulting in a fragmented and inconsistent look and feel.
-
Poor User Experience: With no unified design language or cohesive communication strategy, users found the site confusing and unengaging.
-
Global Appeal Missing: The website failed to position IIMA as a premier global institute, which limited its ability to attract international students.
-
Need for Alignment: The site needed to align with new brand guidelines to present a bold, authoritative, and forward-looking image of IIMA.
We selected a color palette that reflects the university’s identity and values. The primary color, blue, symbolizes trust, wisdom, confidence, and intelligence—qualities that align with the institution’s academic excellence. It also evokes a sense of openness and inspiration.
As a secondary color, red adds vibrancy and energy, representing courage, passion, and enthusiasm, helping to create a dynamic and engaging visual experience.

What This Means
The Wireframes

Old Website

To build a website that truly serves its users, the IIMA committee conducted in-depth research within the campus. The goal was to understand the unique needs and expectations of every key stakeholder.
Research Process
Operational needs for managing and updating site content.
Staff
What they expect from the website in terms of navigation, updates, and services.
Students
Expectations around usability, academic resources, and communication tools.
Faculty
Strategic expectations aligned with brand identity and global leadership.
Board Members
After gathering feedback during the research phase, we created a site map and began sketching rough wireframes. As the client needed a quick turnaround, we streamlined our process to meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.

Before(Old)
After (New)
After finalizing the color palette and establishing component guidelines, we moved on to designing the landing page. The transformation clearly highlights the difference between the old and new versions in terms of visual appeal, usability, and alignment with the updated brand identity.

After finalizing the homepage design—defining the color palette, typography, and call-to-action (CTA) elements—we proceeded to redesign the remaining pages, ensuring visual consistency and a seamless user experience throughout the site.
